How to Replace an Orbbec Sensor
The article will explain how to replace Orbbec sensors on an SS20.
- Make sure to power down the system and ground yourself before proceeding.
- The bottom sensors 1, 2, 11, and 12 have one large open, and when positioned, they should be pointed downward.
- Hang the alignment board in the booth. 1 – 10 face the monitor, and 11 – 20 face the back.
- Unscrew the faulty sensor and secure it to the frame, like the image below.
- Repeat step 2 for all sensors being replaced.
- Write down the new sensor's serial number and the position on the frame that will be replaced.
- Disconnect the bad sensors USB connector from the Active USB cable
- Unscrew the screw and remove the sensor.
- Screw the new sensors like the image above.
- Connect the new sensor USB connector to the Active USB cable.
- Repeat steps 5 – 8 for all sensors being replaced.
- Power on the computer.
- Check the Windows device manager.
- Expand the Orbbec tree. Is there a total of 20 sensors?
- Yes, proceed to step 12
- If not, check if all cables are connected and secure.
- Secure all sensors to the frame if all 20 sensors are detected.
- Navigate to the following directory, "C:\ProgramData\Size Stream\Size Stream Scanner\Assignment Files"
- Make a copy of the assignment.cfg file
- Open the assignment.cfg file as a notepad. The sensor's serial numbers are listed from 1 -20 from top to bottom.
- Update the list with the new sensors' serial numbers corresponding to their frame location.
- Delete the bad sensor serial number
- Type in the new sensor's serial number.
- Save the file
- Launch the Size Stream scanner software.
- Align the scanner.
